Amirul Feisal Wan Zahir has a wealth of experience spanning various roles and companies. Their most recent position was as the Managing Director at Khazanah Nasional Berhad, starting in July 2021. Amirul Feisal Wan Zahir completed a Bachelor of Science in Economics from The London School of Economics and Political Science (LSE) in 1992. Amirul Feisal then became a Fellow of ICAEW in 1995. In 2015, they obtained a Chartered Banker qualification from the Asian Institute of Chartered Bankers. Lastly, in 2018, they attended the Advanced Management Program at Harvard Business School.

Khazanah was incorporated under the Companies Act 2016 on 3 September 1993 as a public limited company and began operations a year later. Except for one share owned by the Federal Lands Commissioner, all the share capital of Khazanah is owned by the Minister of Finance Incorporated, a body pursuant to the Ministry of Finance (Incorporation) Act 1957.
