Barry John

Barry John has a diverse work experience in the field of education and geography. Barry is currently the Head of Geography at King's Ely since 2022. Prior to that, they worked as the Head of Humanities at Denla British School from 2020 to 2022. Barry also served as the Director of Digital Learning and a Geography Teacher at Brighton College Abu Dhabi from 2013 to 2020. Before that, they taught Geography and served as the Extended Essay Coordinator at Al Bateen Secondary School from 2012 to 2014. From 2008 to 2012, Barry worked as a Geography Teacher and an International Award Leader at ALOHA COLLEGE, where they also administered the SATs. Barry began their teaching career as a Geography Teacher and Subject Leader at the British International School of Kiev from 2006 to 2008.

Barry John pursued their education in a chronological manner, starting in 1999 at the University of Bristol. Over the course of three years, from 1999 to 2002, they completed their Bachelor's degree in Geology. Following this, in 2004, Barry enrolled at the University of Cambridge, where they pursued a Postgraduate Certificate in Education (PGCE).
