KIPP DC Public Schools
Susan Toth joined KIPP DC Public Schools in July 2012 and is not the Chief Academic Officer. Her leadership is centered on her vision that schools must be excellent, affirming, and joyful for all students. She believes that school systems can achieve great outcomes for children if they provide steadfast support and development for leaders and teachers, have strong systems for organizational health, and develop caring, trusting, and authentic relationships with all stakeholders. Susan began her educational career in Seattle, Washington. She obtained her bachelor of arts from the University of Washington, master of arts from Seattle University, and principal certification from the Danforth Educational Leadership Program at the University of Washington. Prior to joining KIPP DC, Susan worked for 16 years as a teacher and school leader in Seattle Public Schools. In her free time, Susan enjoys traveling and exploring, reading, and inventing new recipes.
