Reed Hastings is the current director of KIPP Schools, and a previous board member of Facebook, Dreambox, California Charter Schools Association, and Microsoft. Reed was also the president of the California State Board of Education from 2000 to 2004. Prior to their work in education, they were a software engineer for Network Equipment Technologies, Pure Software, Coherent Thought, and Schlumberger Palo Alto Research.
Reed Hastings has an MSAI from Stanford University in Computer Science and a BA from Bowdoin College in Math.
