David started their career in 2004 as a Webmaster and Graphic Designer at Goodbody Stockbrokers, where they were responsible for maintaining and developing online and e-media services. David also had the opportunity to work on technology-based business solutions and marketing.
In 2008, David joined Cognovi as a Developer and Interface Designer. In this role, they focused on the architectural design and development of Java-based web services for interactive TV platforms, mobile phones, and game consoles. David also worked as an interactive and graphic designer and developed native mobile apps.
After Cognovi, David worked as an iDevice Game Developer Contractor at Newleaf Games in 2010. David then joined PlayFirst, Inc. in 2011 as a Senior Mobile Software Engineer (iOS). David served as the engineering team lead for the hit casual game "DinerTown Zoo," where they spearheaded gameplay and library code development. David also mentored junior developers and integrated AWS cloud systems.
In 2012, David became the Lead Game Developer at Digit Game Studios. David played a crucial role in bringing the free-to-play mobile and web game "Kings of The Realm" to market using the Unity 3D engine. David was involved in core tech development, general gameplay coding, and mentoring in an agile development environment. David also contributed to prototyping and key technology additions for a yet-to-be-announced second title.
Their most recent position is as a Senior Frontend Developer at Kitman Labs since 2016.
David Kelly attended Dún Laoghaire Institute of Art, Design and Technology from 2000 to 2004, where they earned a Bachelor of Science (BSc) in Multimedia. Later, in 2007 to 2008, they studied at Trinity College Dublin, focusing on Interactive Entertainment Technology and Computer Science. In October 2016, David obtained additional certifications in Game Design Careers with Brenda Romero and Start Your Own Game Company with John Romero, both from LinkedIn.
