To meet Kitopi's goals, as an Associate - Quality Assurance, you have to oversee and control all quality control activities (hygiene, santitation) in accordance with identified quality assurance standards, company procedures, client specifications, and contract requirements.

What You'll Do

  • Perform daily checks of kitchen areas to ensure compliance with safety and hygiene standards, including monitoring food storage, preparation areas, and overall cleanliness.
  • Assist in leading the sanitation team by providing guidance on best practices, ensuring that all cleaning procedures are executed efficiently and in accordance with health and safety regulations.
  • Help investigate client complaints related to food quality by collecting relevant information, conducting interviews with staff, and collaborating with the team to implement corrective actions when necessary.
  • Support the development and delivery of training programs for kitchen staff on food safety practices, proper hygiene protocols, and the correct use of kitchen equipment to foster a culture of safety and compliance.
  • Assist in maintaining awareness of local and international food safety regulations, ensuring that Kitopi's operations meet all legal requirements, and prepare for local inspections by organizing documentation and records.
  • Participate in risk assessments by identifying potential safety hazards within the kitchen environment and recommending appropriate preventive measures to mitigate risks.
  • Support the investigation of incidents in the kitchen by documenting details, analyzing root causes, and following up on corrective actions to prevent future occurrences.
  • Contribute to sustainability initiatives by promoting practices such as waste reduction, energy efficiency, and recycling among kitchen staff, ensuring that Kitopi aligns with its sustainability goals.

Who Are We Looking For?

  • Bachelor’s degree in Food Technology, Microbiology, or a related scientific field.
  • A minimum of 3 years of experience in quality control within a catering environment is essential.
  • Level 3 HACCP and Food Safety certification specifically for catering.
  • Proven leadership and teamwork skills, effectively collaborating within your area and across the organization.
  • Proficiency in data analysis tools to drive insights and improvements.
  • Strong personality with the ability to remain composed and effective under high-pressure situations.
  • Experience with local municipality inspections or food safety audits is highly desirable.
  • Valid driving license is required.
