Whetu Leef

Whetu Leef is an experienced professional in the fields of anti-money laundering, compliance, and financial crime analysis. Currently serving as the Manager of AML/CFT & Sanctions at Kiwibank since March 2023, Whetu has held various advisory roles, including Senior Advisor at both NZ Police and the Department of Internal Affairs from 2021 to 2023. Prior experience includes a position as Liaison and Compliance Officer at NZ Police and over six years as a Financial Crime Analyst at Bank of New Zealand. Whetu's career began at ANZ as an Analyst and includes customer service roles, further enhancing a robust foundation in financial services. Whetu holds a degree from The University of Auckland.
