KCB
Shirley started her career as a geologist collecting marine seismic exploration data for oil and gas in the Beaufort Sea and the Atlantic Ocean offshore Nova Scotia. Following working at sea, and based in Newfoundland and Labrador, she worked as an independent consultant for mineral exploration, and CAD and GIS projects. In British Columbia, Shirley managed digital mapping and photogrammetry projects for MacDonald Detwiler and Associates (MDA) and Eagle Mapping, where she also managed their ISO-registered quality management system.
Joining KCB in 2008, Shirley worked with Alex Sy to improve KCB’s quality management system, evolving it in 2014 to an integrated management system (IMS) registered to three ISO standards: 9001, 14001 and 45001. Shirley led the development of KCB’s project manager training program and has implemented electronic workflows which are now an integral part of KCB’s IMS.
She is currently responsible for managing and improving business processes in collaboration with KCB’s business units and corporate groups.
