Jeffrey Spencer is an experienced educational professional currently serving as a Science Instructional Coach and Professional Development Coordinator at the Regional Office of Education 17 since February 2022, where responsibilities include partnering with school districts to enhance classroom practices in accordance with the Next Generation Science Standards. Additionally, Spencer has been a Collaborative Design Facilitator at the University of Michigan since June 2017, focusing on developing culturally relevant science curricula in collaboration with the North Slope Borough School District and community members in Utqiaġvik, AK. Spencer also holds the position of Coaching Academy Coordinator with the Knowles Teacher Initiative, overseeing instructional coaching development for secondary educators. Prior teaching experience includes roles as a Chemistry Teacher at Vista Peak 9-12 Preparatory and various student teaching positions. Educational qualifications include a PhD in Chemistry from the University of Michigan, an MS in Teaching of Chemistry from the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign, and a BS in Chemistry from the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign.
