Mary Agwu has extensive work experience in the field of human resources. Mary Agwu started their career as a Junior Counsel at Jireh & Greys Attorneys in 2013. From 2015 to 2016, they worked as an HR Business Partner at UBA Group, where they handled various HR functions such as recruitment, onboarding, and employee relations.
In 2016, Mary joined Aquila Leasing Ltd. as the Head of Human Resources, where they were responsible for overseeing HR operations. Mary Agwu then worked at GardaWorld from 2019 to 2022 as a Manager in HR, Legal, and Compliance.
In 2022, Mary joined DLM Capital Group as a Group Head in Human Resources. Currently, they hold the position of Vice President of People Engagement at Konga Group, where they utilize their expertise in managing and engaging with the company's workforce.
Mary Agwu completed their Bachelor of Laws (LL.B.) degree at the University of Maiduguri from 2005 to 2011. Following that, they attended the Nigerian Law School in Lagos, where they obtained their Bachelor of Laws (B.L) in 2012. Additionally, they have obtained several certifications, including the SHRM Certified Professional (SHRM-CP) from SHRM and the Onboarding New Hires as a Manager certification from LinkedIn. Mary Agwu is also an Associate Member of the Chartered Institute of Personnel Management of Nigeria (CIPM) and a member of the Nigerian Bar Association and the Association of Corporate Governance Professionals of Nigeria.
