Dominique De Roo has extensive work experience in various marketing and communication roles. They started at Brill in 2006 as a Marketing Assistant and worked their way up to become a Sales Account Manager, Marketing Manager, and finally the Head of Marketing & Salesmanager Benelux. At Brill, Dominique was responsible for developing and implementing marketing strategies, conducting market research, managing brand positioning, and building relationships with stakeholders. They also led team projects and coordinated work flows as the Head of the marketing services team. In addition to their experience at Brill, Dominique held leadership positions in the city council of Alphen aan den Rijn as the Fractievoorzitter Groenlinks, where they focused on sustainability issues and communication. They also served as the Secretaris for Stichting Groenstad, a foundation that promotes green and sustainable initiatives. Dominique played a key role in developing innovative events and campaigns, managing all-round communication, and expanding the Groenstad network. They have recently joined Brill again as the Vice President of Marketing and Communication.

Dominique De Roo attended Leiden University from 2001 to 2009, where they obtained a Drs./MA degree in English and Book & Publishing Studies. Prior to university, they completed their Gymnasium education at CSG het Noordik, although specific dates were not provided. In addition to their formal education, Dominique also obtained a certification in Leading Sustainability: High Impact Leadership from the Cambridge Institute for Sustainability Leadership (CISL) in January 2023.
