Mark Nelsen is an experienced meteorologist currently serving as the Chief Meteorologist at KPTV Fox 12 Oregon since September 2000. Previously, Mark worked as a Broadcast Meteorologist at KOIN-TV from November 1993 to October 2000, where duties included serving as the weekend meteorologist before transitioning to weekday evenings. Early in Mark's career, meteorological expertise was applied at Micro Forecasts from October 1991 to January 1994, focusing on weather forecasts for windsurfers and skiers in the Columbia River Gorge and Mt. Hood. Mark Nelsen holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Atmospheric Sciences and Meteorology from the University of Washington, obtained in June 1991.
