Andrea Mayfield, Ed. D. has a diverse work experience in the field of education. Andrea is currently working as a Research Project Director at The University of Kansas since July 2021. Prior to that, they have been running their own consultancy, Andrea Mayfield Consultation, since August 2013, where they provide professional development in various areas such as MTSS, standards-based IEPs, inclusion, and paraeducator training. Andrea also offers instructional coaching to ensure teachers have access to evidence-based practices and interventions.

From July 2017 to July 2021, Andrea served as the Principal at ARROW ACADEMY OF EXCELLENCE. Andrea has also worked as an Educational Consultant since June 2013 and continues to do so.

Andrea's work experience also includes being the Dean of Theology Training Tract at The New Olivet Baptist Church from August 2013 to December 2019. In this role, they managed the operation of theology courses for preachers to become ordained and offered biblical scriptures understanding to others in the congregation.

Furthermore, Andrea worked as an Educator in Residence at the Mississippi Department of Education from July 2013 to June 2017. Andrea'sfocus was on building capacity within school districts and the department, primarily working with Special Education Directors and Programs in districts under Conservatorship or direct supervision of the department.

Andrea has also served as an Adjunct Professor at Cambridge College from January 2009 to December 2015 and at the University of Memphis from August 2005 to December 2012.

Andrea's career in education began as a Teacher at Memphis City Schools from August 1995 to November 2004. Prior to that, they worked as a Special Education Regional Consultant at the State of Tennessee, Department of Education from November 2004 to May 2013.

Andrea Mayfield, Ed. D. earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Special Education from Alcorn State University, where they studied from 1987 to 1991. Andrea then pursued further education and obtained an Education Doctorate in Elementary Education from the University of Mississippi, completing their studies from 1996 to 2003. Additionally, Andrea has obtained several certifications, including Social and Behavioral Research - Basic/Refresher from the CITI Program in July 2021, TEAM Teacher Evaluator from The Tennessee Department of Education in June 2021, Lean Six Sigma Yellow Belt Certification from The Henson Consortium in 2020, and Literacy, Leadership, and Coaching in 2015.
