Michael Sommer has held various roles in the real estate development and construction industry. Michael started their career at Premier Development in 1996, where they served as Senior Vice President of Development until 2013. From 2013 to 2016, they worked as Managing Director of Development at Advance Realty Development. Michael then joined Edison Properties as Executive Vice President of Development from 2016 to 2019. After that, they worked at Cedar Realty Trust, Inc. as SVP, Development & Construction from 2019 to 2021. Currently, Michael serves as the Chief Development Officer at Kushner, a position they have held since August 2023.
Michael Sommer completed their BA in Economics and Business at Lafayette College from 1992 to 1996. From 2008 to 2011, they pursued an MBA in Strategy and Law & Business at NYU Stern School of Business.
