Peter Storeng

Peter Storeng has a diverse work experience in the field of software engineering and kdb+ consulting. Peter worked as a Senior Software Engineer at KX starting in August 2022. Prior to that, they worked at Cboe Global Markets as a Software Engineer from February 2020 to July 2022. Peter also worked as a kdb+ Contractor at Citi from January 2017 to January 2020. Before that, they were a kdb+ Contractor at Morgan Stanley, where they were part of the kdb+ sub team in the Market Making and Quote team. Peter also has experience as a kdb+ Trainer, teaching kdb+ as an independent contractor for First Derivatives. Peter worked at HSBC as a kdb+ Developer in the Cash and Equities IT Team, where they implemented and optimized trading strategy algorithms in kdb+ and developed a new feedhandler. Peter started their career as a Financial Engineer at First Derivatives, where they provided technical interviews and helped train new recruits in kdb+. Peter also worked as a kdb+ consultant at Morgan Stanley, where they dealt with data from Reuters Datascope and worked on support and development projects. Peter holds an MSc in Computer Science from The University of Edinburgh.

Peter Storeng holds a Master's Degree in Computer Science (Analytical and Scientific Databases) from The University of Edinburgh, which they completed between 2015 and 2016. Prior to that, between 2007 and 2011, they obtained a Master of Mathematics (Mmath) degree in Mathematics from the University of Bath. In 2019, they also successfully completed the CFA Level 1 certification from the CFA Institute.
