James Zabala

James Zabala is a seasoned footwear designer with extensive experience in the industry. Currently serving as Senior Designer at L.L.Bean since April 2017, James is responsible for designing and developing a wide range of men's and women's footwear, including being the lead designer for the children's footwear category. Prior to this role, James spent over a decade at Sperry Top-Sider, progressing from Assistant Designer to Senior Designer, where responsibilities included managing junior designers, driving collaborations, and initiating the Handcrafted in Maine program. James holds an MBA from Husson University and a Bachelor of Science in Industrial and Product Design from Wentworth Institute of Technology.
