Jody Smith has a diverse work experience in the media industry. Starting in 2000, they worked as a Web Editor and Producer for Endemol, overseeing the design and build of the Big Brother websites. From 2001 to 2006, Jody was a Content Producer for the BBC, where they worked on various interactive services. Jody then joined Channel 4 and held multiple roles, including Web Editor, Multiplatform Commissioning Editor, and Commissioning Editor. During their time at Channel 4, they commissioned original series, managed stakeholders, and oversaw the development of websites and apps. In 2016, Jody became the Head of Digital at youngest Media, leading a department that focused on creative development and production of online and social videos, commercial videos, and digital products. Jody later joined Studio71 UK, where they pivoted the company from an MCN to a content business, winning commissions in TV, social, and podcasts. Jody served as the VP Creative Director and most recently as the Head of Creative Video at LADbible Group, where they built a new team and produced brand campaign videos for clients such as Disney, Google, and Porsche.
Jody Smith attended the Surrey Institute of Art and Design from 1997 to 2000, where they earned a Bachelor's degree in Journalism.
