John Tosto, PLS, is an experienced professional with a strong background in surveying and geomatics. Serving as a Survey Party Chief at the Los Angeles Department of Water and Power since December 2016, John is involved in a variety of projects related to water and power, including preliminary surveys and construction layout. As an Executive Committee Member of the California Spatial Reference Center since August 2017, John contributes to reviewing and recommending operational policies. Additionally, John has been providing consulting services through Tosto Consulting, focusing on maximizing the use of Google’s free tools for businesses since February 2015. Previously, John held the position of Project Manager for the City of Los Angeles from September 2005 to November 2016, where responsibilities included managing the Precise Levels and Height Modernization programs and leading various GNSS projects. John holds a Bachelor's Degree in Geomatics Engineering from California State University, Fresno.
