Kevin Brooks

Kevin Brooks is an experienced academic and organizational leader with a diverse background in social justice, experiential learning, and nonprofit management. Currently serving as the Social Justice Studies (MA) Program Advisor at Lakehead University since July 2019, Brooks previously enhanced experiential learning as an Experiential Learning Coordinator at the same institution. As a former Vice President and Board Member of African Soul, American Heart, Brooks played a crucial role in organizational leadership and event planning. Brooks also held the position of President and Chair of the Board at the New American Consortium for Wellness and Empowerment, where Brooks contributed to fundraising and strategic development. With a PhD in Rhetoric and Professional Communication from Iowa State University, Brooks spent over twenty years at North Dakota State University as a Professor and Chair of the English department, leading significant curriculum revisions and assessment initiatives.
