Michael Nicin

Michael Nicin serves as the Executive Director of Government Relations at Lakehead University since August 2022. Previously, Michael held the position of Executive Director at the National Institute on Ageing from January 2018 to July 2022, and worked at the Ontario Ministry for Seniors and Accessibility as Chief of Staff and Senior Policy Advisor in 2017. Michael's experience also includes roles as Senior Policy Advisor at the Ontario Ministry of Children and Youth Services and as an Independent Consultant at HOOPP. From 2010 to 2016, Michael was with CARP, ultimately serving as Director of Policy & Strategic Planning. Michael co-founded the Public Policy and Governance Review in 2009 and has prior experience as a Program Analyst Intern at the Ontario Public Service. Educational qualifications include a Master of Public Policy from the University of Toronto, a Master of Arts in History from York University, and a Bachelor of Arts in History & Philosophy from the University of Waterloo.
