Kirk Iwasaki has a diverse work experience that spans multiple industries. Kirk began their career at Education Network in Nagoya, Japan, where they served as Head English Teacher from September 2006 to March 2008. In this role, they were responsible for teaching classes, managing education-related tasks, and fostering communication between the foreign and Japanese staff.
Following this, Kirk worked at Education Network as the Planning Director from April 2008 to April 2009. In this position, they led a team in the creation of a new branch of Education Network, aiming to revolutionize the English education industry in Japan by introducing new and unique concepts.
From September 2009 to September 2019, Kirk worked at Lakeshore Learning Materials. Kirk started as a Senior Product Designer + S.T.E.M. Product Developer and was later promoted to Senior Industrial Designer. In addition to their role-specific tasks, they managed critical projects and helped establish and build a new Industrial Design division within the company. Kirk also developed workflows and processes that integrated the skills of industrial designers into the existing product development process. Kirk was responsible for designing and modeling various products, including textiles, plastic components, wooden materials, and more. Kirk also worked as a product design consultant for challenging projects and trained Industrial Designers to adapt to the Lakeshore Development workflow.
Most recently, Kirk has been working at Lakeshore Learning Materials as the Lead Mechanical Designer since February 2021.
Kirk Iwasaki completed their Bachelor's degree in Psychology from Albion College from 2002 to 2006. Prior to that, they attended Crossroads High School from 1998 to 2002.
