Mansour Karkoub is a distinguished academic with extensive experience in the field of mechanical engineering. Currently serving as the Department Chair and Professor at Lamar University since August 2022, Karkoub previously held professorships at Texas A&M University System and Texas A&M University from July 2009 to July 2022, focusing on teaching, research, and service. Prior to this role, Karkoub was a Professor and Department Chair at The Petroleum Institute in Abu Dhabi from August 2005 to July 2009, overseeing teaching, research, and program management. Earlier in the career, Karkoub was a Professor/Researcher at INRIA in Roquencourt, France, from 2001 to 2005. Karkoub holds advanced degrees in mechanical engineering, including a PhD and master's degree from the University of Minnesota, as well as an H.D.R. in Mechatronics from the University of Versailles, France.
