Mary Ivory Smith

Mary Ivory Smith is an accomplished lighting designer and manager with extensive experience in the performing arts. Currently serving as the Store 41 InHome Lighting Designer and Pros Account Manager at Lamps Plus since January 2021, Mary previously worked as a journeyman stagehand for IATSE Local 127 from 1992 to 2009, participating in numerous productions at prominent Dallas venues. With a strong background in education, Mary taught lighting design at Dallas Independent School District from 1991 to 2005 and provided technical guidance to student designers. Additional roles include Facility Manager and Technical Director at the University of Louisiana at Lafayette, Resident Lighting Designer for Cornerstone Dance Company, and self-employed lighting designer for various events from 1987 to 2009. Mary's educational background includes an MFA from California Institute of the Arts and a BA from the University of the Pacific.
