Jean Grégoire

Jean Grégoire serves clients involved in the marine sector. He is frequently retained by shipowners, operators, charterers, port authorities, terminal operators, stevedores and P&I Clubs. He regularly advises shippers and consignees in the mining and oil and gas industries on marine-related matters. He advises and represents his clients not only in marine and admiralty matters but also in other fields including penal law, environmental law, administrative and regulatory law and commercial law.

His maritime law practice encompasses litigation and commercial matters as well as regulatory issues related to the transportation industry. He acts as counsel to clients in marine casualty investigations and litigation, including charter-party disputes. From 1975 to 1983, Jean acquired invaluable experience for his maritime law practice by serving as a crew member onboard several commercial vessels including bulk carriers, self-unloaders and tanker vessels.

He has appeared before all levels of Quebec courts and Federal courts, and before the Supreme Court of Canada.
