David Caponio

David Caponio is an accomplished professional with extensive experience in product and business development within the aerospace and defense sectors. Currently serving as the Senior Vice President of Product and Business Development at VAST since February 2023, Caponio also holds the position of Head of Product and Business Development at Launcher since July 2021. With a background in the US Air Force Reserve as Senior IMA to the Chief Engineer since January 2011, Caponio's expertise includes leadership roles at Emolbi and Tyvak Nanosatellite Systems, Inc. as Sr Acquisitions Manager and Vice President of Commercial Space and Launch, respectively. Additional experience encompasses roles at Virgin Orbit, Space Exploration Technologies, and several engineering positions in the United States Air Force. Caponio holds a Bachelor's Degree in Aeronautical Engineering from the United States Air Force Academy and a Master's Degree in Systems Engineering from the U.S. Air Force Institute of Technology.
