Everette Conway is an experienced educator and recreation specialist with a strong background in physical education and therapeutic activities. Currently serving as a Physical Education Teacher at Laurel Oaks Behavioral Health Center Inc since August 2018, Everette manages the physical education curriculum, mentors students in life skills and health education, and coordinates sporting events while collaborating with Mental Health Technicians. Prior experience includes roles as a Teacher at Teen Challenge - Southeast Region, Recreation Supervisor at Graceville Correctional Facility, and Recreation Specialist at Mississippi State Hospital, focusing on inmate education and therapeutic recreational activities. Everette holds a Master's degree in Physical Education and a Bachelor's degree in Professional Interdisciplinary Studies from Jackson State University, complemented by an education credential from Holmes Community College.

Laurel Oaks Behavioral Health Center provides high quality, acute psychiatric hospitalization and longer-term intensive residential treatment for children and teens, ages 4 to 18. Laurel Oaks offers specialized treatment services for youth with severe psychiatric disorders, including those with additional challenges such as mild or moderate mental retardation or other cognitive delays, abuse and/or neglect victimization or high-risk behaviors (i.e. suicidal/self-harming, assaultive, running away, etc.). We are located on approximately ten acres in the southeast corner of the state, less than 20 miles from both Florida and Georgia. Our facility offers multiple residential units organized by age group, and it includes a registered private school, cosmetologist salon, a full-service cafeteria and numerous recreational areas such as an in-ground swimming pool and gym as well as tennis and basketball courts.
