Vanessa Sochat

Vanessa Sochat is a Principal Computer Scientist at Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory since February 2021, specializing in converged computing, container technologies, and scientific workflow orchestration. Prior to this role, Vanessa served as a Computer Scientist focusing on open-source software development for projects such as the Flux Framework and RADIUSS. Vanessa's experience includes a position as a Research Software Engineer at Stanford University, contributing to system engineering and scientific computational analyses, and earning a PhD in Biomedical Informatics at Stanford University School of Medicine. Earlier work includes research in neuroimaging at Duke University, highlighting the relationship between brain function, behavior, and genetics, as well as an internship in global macroanalysis at Wellington Management. Vanessa's academic foundation includes a BA in Psychology and Neuroscience from Duke University and early education at Amherst College.
