Farnush Farhadi

Farnush Farhadi has a diverse work experience spanning multiple industries and roles. Farnush is currently working as a Machine Learning Product Engineer at Layer 6 AI and as a Data Engineer at TD, both since 2020. Prior to their current roles, Farnush worked as a Data Scientist at The Hospital for Sick Children from 2018 to 2020, where they applied machine learning and statistical techniques to analyze longitudinal epigenetic data and understand the relationship between epigenomic profiles and social behavior patterns. Farnush also collaborated with clinical research teams and communicated the results and models to clinicians.

From 2015 to 2018, Farnush worked as a Graduate Research Assistant at the BC Children's Hospital Research Institute. Farnush'sresponsibilities included developing data preprocessing pipelines for genomic datasets and applying ML and statistical methods to prioritize disease hits related to major depressive disorder. Farnush was supervised by Sara Mostafavi during this time.

In 2017, Farnush worked as a Mitacs Data Scientist Intern at Mobify, where they developed an anomaly detection tool using SQL, Python, and an ARIMA model to identify possible data issues and send alerts to stakeholders.

Farnush also has teaching experience, having worked as a Teaching Assistant at The University of British Columbia in 2017, where they facilitated seminars on statistical methods for high-dimensional biology. Additionally, they worked as a Bioinformatician Intern at The University of British Columbia in 2016, where they analyzed time-series data to study muscle regeneration.

Earlier in their career, Farnush worked as an Undergraduate Research Assistant at Sharif University of Technology from 2010 to 2015, conducting research on data integration and molecular-level mechanisms in cancer. Farnush also served as an Undergraduate Teaching Assistant during this time.

In 2014, Farnush worked as a Computer Scientist Intern at Bilkent University, where they implemented a tool in C++ to generate unique substrings from the human genome.
