Hamidreza K.

Machine Learning Researcher at Layer 6

Hamidreza K. has a diverse work experience in the field of machine learning and research. Hamidreza'smost recent position is as a Machine Learning Researcher at Layer 6 AI, where they are currently employed. Prior to this, they worked as a Research Assistant at the Vector Institute, where they focused on developing a novel technique for causal discovery and inference using affine normalizing flows. Hamidreza also utilized techniques from Graph theory for continuous causal structure discovery on directed acyclic graphs.

Before joining the Vector Institute, Hamidreza worked as a Teaching Assistant at the University of Toronto. In this role, they assisted in the course introduction to artificial intelligence (CSC384) by curating assignments and holding office hours and tutorials for undergraduate students. Hamidreza also worked as a Teaching Assistant for the course CSC236: Introduction to the theory of computation, where they tutored on topics of algorithm design and demonstrated international communication skills in the classroom.

Prior to their work at the University of Toronto, Hamidreza gained experience as a Research and Development Scientist at FANAP. Here, they conducted research on deep learning methods for restoring poorly taken dental panoramic images and aiding in tooth disease detection. Hamidreza implemented U-Net for dynamic range unification and Detectron2 Mask-RCNN for instance segmentation of tooth and treatments.

During their time as a Research Intern at the Max Planck Institute for Informatics, Hamidreza worked on various projects. Hamidreza contributed to a paper on novel algorithms for tackling Semi-Definite programs using nature-inspired dynamics, and they implemented the method as a proof of concept. Hamidreza also conducted fundamental research on fine-grained bounds for training perceptrons from an algorithmic perspective.

Additionally, Hamidreza has worked as a Teaching Assistant at Sharif University of Technology and as a Research Assistant at Aalto University. At Sharif University, they provided support in various courses, and at Aalto University, they created a data-driven method for identifying RNA sequences that can fold into certain secondary structures.

Early in their career, Hamidreza worked as a Mathematics and Computer Science Tutor at AE HighSchool Iran. Hamidreza prepared students for the International Olympiad in Informatics and collaborated with MAPSA to create an introduction to machine learning Bootcamp.

Overall, Hamidreza K. has a strong background in machine learning research, algorithm design, and teaching. Hamidreza'swork experience demonstrates their expertise in various areas of artificial intelligence and their ability to contribute to research and development projects.

Hamidreza K. began their education in 2017 as a student at the Young Scholars Club, where they pursued a degree in Computer Science and participated in the INOI Gold Camp. In 2018, they enrolled in the Computer Engineering program at CE @ Sharif University of Technology and completed their Bachelor's degree in 2022. Currently, Hamidreza is pursuing a Master's degree in Computer Science at the University of Toronto, which they expect to complete in 2024.
