Ryan Saunders is an experienced education professional currently serving as the Deputy Director of State Policy at the Learning Policy Institute since September 2017, with prior roles as Senior Policy Advisor and Policy Advisor within the same organization. Before this, Saunders worked at the Council of Chief State School Officers as a Program Associate for the Education Workforce from November 2015 to September 2017. Earlier experience includes teaching positions at Carol Morgan School in language arts, the Denver Center for International Studies at Montbello in U.S. history, and Bilkent High School in IB literature. Saunders holds a Master in Teaching with a focus on Secondary Language Arts Education from The Evergreen State College and a Bachelor of Arts in English from The University of Georgia.
