Legacy Early College
Helen Irby is a native of Greenville, SC. She earned her BS in Music Education from South Carolina State University and her Master's degree in Personnel Services from Clemson in 1980. Over her teaching career, she taught math, science, social studies and self-contained classes. She retired from Greenville County Schools as a Music Specialist in 2001.
Helen is a member of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc. and has served as a member of the Greenville County Legislative Transportation Committee. She is a former member of The National Teachers Association and the National Music Teachers Conference. Her hobbies include singing, traveling, gardening and listening to great music. Her favorite composer is Ludwig van Beethoven.

Legacy Early College
Legacy Early College addresses the needs of each scholar with an education model of academic excellence, physical fitness, and superior nutrition. Legacy is the only public school in SC to provide daily PE for every child. Legacy's mission is to offer a quality, rigorous, and relevant educational program leading to college graduation and empowering underserved urban students to become productive, fit, principled citizens in a changing society.
