Sadia Shamid is a dedicated legal professional with extensive experience in housing law and eviction defense. Currently serving as a Staff Attorney at Legal Services NYC since November 2021, Sadia has previously held positions including Health Initiative Legal Intern at the Community Service Society of New York and Legal Intern at Advocates for Justice. Sadia gained foundational experience in housing law through the Tenant’s Rights Advocacy Clinic at St. John's University School of Law and provided bankruptcy assistance to low-income clients during an earlier role at Legal Services NYC. With a Doctor of Law degree from St. John's University School of Law and a Bachelor's Degree in Psychology from Barnard College, Sadia is committed to advocating for the rights of marginalized communities.

Legal Services NYC fights poverty and seeks justice for low-income New Yorkers. For 50 years, we have challenged systemic injustice and helped clients meet basic needs for housing, income and economic security, family and immigration stability, education, and health care.
