Steve Wheeler has a vast work experience spanning over two decades. Their most recent role is as Chief Technology Officer at Legatics, where they started in January 2021. Prior to this, they worked at BBC as Head of Software Engineering for News from September 2016 to July 2019, and as a Senior Technical Architect / Engineering Manager for BBC News from December 2011 to September 2016. Before joining BBC, Steve was the Head of Technology at CrowdBnk Ltd, a London-based FinTech business, from January 2012 to July 2016. Additionally, they have held various roles at Orange UK, Wanadoo UK, and Energis, where they gained extensive experience in solution architecture, system management, and development.
Steve Wheeler attended the University of Leeds from 1997 to 2000. Steve obtained a Bachelor of Science (BSc) degree in Computer Science during this period. In addition to their formal education, Steve obtained certification as an AWS Certified Solution Architect (Associate) from Amazon Web Services in November 2013.
