Tieshi Li

Tieshi Li has extensive experience in scientific research and academia. Beginning in 2006, Li worked as a Postdoctoral Research Fellow at Duke University, where they focused on developmental biology, stem cells, immunology, and structure biology. They also gained proficiency in various laboratory techniques such as subcloning, PCR, protein expression and purification, and flow cytometry.

From 2008 to 2013, Li joined the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill as a Research Associate and later as a Postdoctoral Research Fellow. During this time, their research interests expanded to include developmental biology, skeletal biology and diseases, bio-materials and tissue bio-engineering, stem cells, and regenerative medicine. They gained skills in subcloning, Western blot, PCR, FACs sorting, and animal tissue dissection, among others.

In 2015, Li became an Assistant Professor and lab head at Rush University Medical Center. They supervised lab members and worked on their own projects related to developmental biology. Li also collaborated with other researchers and received grants as the Principal Investigator.

Moving to the University of Nebraska Medical Center in 2019, Li served as a Tenure-track Assistant Professor. They established their own laboratory in the Pediatrics department and collaborated with various researchers, securing pilot grants as the Principal Investigator.

Currently, Li holds the position of Senior Scientist at Legend Biotech, where they specialize in retrovirus and lentivirus production and transduction. They are involved in several pipelines related to blood cancer and solid tumor cancer, including IND application. Li also contributes to the design of CAR-T for allogeneic cell therapy.

Throughout their career, Li has developed expertise in multiple laboratory techniques and has made significant contributions to the field of biology and medicine.

Tieshi Li holds a Bachelor's degree in Physics from Shandong University, which they obtained in 1996. Tieshi then pursued a Master's degree in Theoretical and Mathematical Physics at the same university from 1996 to 1999. Tieshi Li furthered their education by completing a PhD in both Biology/Biological Sciences and Biochemistry, Biophysics, and Molecular Biology at Tsinghua University from 2000 to 2005.
