Dheeraj Varanasi

Dheeraj Varanasi, PhD, is a Senior Blade Expert Engineer at Leica Biosystems since June 2022, focusing on establishing academic collaborations and developing an R&D lab for microtome blade research. Previously, Dheeraj served as a Postdoctoral Researcher at the Centre for Energy Research, where the work involved the fabrication and testing of translucent ceramics for anti-ballistic applications. Prior experiences include a Research Assistant role at the University of Miskolc, concentrating on high-temperature vacuum brazing and multi-layer coatings, and a Project Trainee position at BHEL R&D that involved a literature survey on perovskite materials for turbine blade applications. Dheeraj holds a PhD in Material Science from the University of Miskolc, and Master’s and Bachelor’s degrees in Manufacturing and Mechanical Engineering, respectively, from Manipal University Jaipur and Jawaharlal Nehru Technological University, Hyderabad.
