Elona Erez has a strong background in machine learning and deep learning research. Elona is currently working as an ML/DL Senior Research Scientist at LevL, where they focus on deep learning for signals and time series. Elona is skilled in using tools such as PyTorch, PyTorch Lightning, AWS, VS Code, dask, SageMaker, and WandB.
Prior to their current role, Elona worked as a Senior AI Researcher at GSI Technology, where they applied deep learning techniques to genomics and bioinformatics. Elona also worked on deep learning for graph applications, specifically for chemistry and molecular search. Additionally, they utilized the Hidden Markov model and Viterbi algorithm for protein similarity search.
Before joining GSI Technology, Elona was an Algorithm Engineer at Samsung Electronics. There, they focused on machine learning, particularly reinforcement learning, deep learning, and association rules. Elona researched and developed innovative applications for fast and efficient SSDs, including novel methods of scheduling, caching, and reliability enhancement. Elona also developed algorithms for compression and data reduction, specifically deduplication for SSDs, DRAM, data reduction for fast synchronization, and similarity deduplication.
Elona's academic experience includes a role as a Postdoctoral Associate at Yale University, where they worked in the Department of Electrical Engineering. Elona conducted research in information theory and investigated advanced architectures of content-centric networks using innovative routing algorithms and caching replacement techniques.
Elona also served as a Postdoctoral Scholar at the California Institute of Technology in the Department of Electrical Engineering. Elona'sresearch at Caltech focused on information theory, working under the guidance of Prof. Michelle Effros and Prof. Tracey Ho.
Throughout their career, Elona has demonstrated a deep understanding and expertise in machine learning, deep learning, and information theory research, applying their skills to various industries and domains.
Elona Erez has an extensive education history in the field of Electrical Engineering. Elona began their educational journey at Tel Aviv University, where they obtained a Bachelor of Science - BS degree in Electrical Engineering from 1995 to 1999. Building on this foundation, they pursued a Master of Science - MS degree from the same institution, completing it between 1999 and 2002. Elona's strong passion for their field prompted their to further their knowledge and expertise by undertaking a Doctor of Philosophy - PhD program, also at Tel Aviv University, which they successfully completed from 2003 to 2007. Elona Erez's education is marked by consistent commitment to learning and continuous growth in the field of Electrical Engineering.
