Tom McNamara

Tom McNamara is an experienced academic and educator currently serving as the Writing Center Director and Assistant Professor of English Studies at Lewis University since August 2018. Prior to this role, Tom held the position of Assistant Professor at California State University, Fresno from August 2016 to July 2018, and worked as a Graduate Assistant at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign between July 2011 and May 2016. Earlier in their career, Tom was a Writing Instructor and University Center for Writing-based Learning Coordinator at DePaul University from August 2008 to July 2011, and served as Music Director and Private Voice and Piano Instructor at the Beverly Arts Center from June 2007 to May 2008. Tom's academic credentials include a PhD in Writing Studies from the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign, an MA in English from Loyola University Chicago, and a BA in English Literature, Music, and Catholic Studies from Loras College.
