LG Energy Solution Wrocław is Europe's largest producer of lithium-ion batteries for electric vehicles. The factory operates in Biskupice Podgórne, located south-west of Wrocław (Poland), employing more than 10,000 people. The company - originally under the name of LG Chem Wrocław Energy - was established in 2016, when the construction of a battery factory also began. Battery production started in the second half of 2017. In terms of technology, the plant near Wrocław is a unique place - similar factories of the LG Energy Solution group operate only in China, South Korea and the United States. Among the customers of the batteries produced in Biskupice Podgórne are such automotive brands as: Audi, BMW, Fiat Ford, Porsche and Volkswagen. During its nearly five years of operation, LG Energy Solution Wrocław created the first and at the same time the largest electric vehicles battery production center in Europe. It resulted in introducing to Poland the most modern technology, attracting many other investments, as well as making Poland the European leader in this industry.
