Patrick Egger began their work experience in 1998 at Helvetia Versicherungen Schweiz, where they worked as a Product Manager for Motor Vehicles until 2000. Patrick then moved on to the LISTA Group in 2001, where they worked as a Product Manager until 2003. In 2005, Egger joined LGT - Private Banking und Asset Management as an Investment Accountant for Private Equity and Hedge FoF, a role they held until 2008. From 2008 to 2011, Egger worked at Bank J. Safra Sarasin Ltd as an Assistant Vice President in the Corporate Finance division. Finally, Egger returned to LGT - Private Banking und Asset Management in 2011, first working as a Group Controller until 2015 and then as the Head of Group Accounting from 2015 onwards.

Patrick Egger attended ZHAW Zurich University of Applied Sciences from 2000 to 2003, where they earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Banking and Finance. Patrick then pursued a Master of Arts degree in Economics and Finance at Curtin University from 2004 to 2005. In 2006, Patrick attended the CFA Institute, focusing on Financial Services.
