Jake Laxton

Jake Laxton is a seasoned finance professional with a strong background in credit analysis and private equity. Currently serving as a Private Credit Analyst at Libertas since March 2025, Jake focuses on underwriting lower middle market mergers and acquisitions and growth financing. Prior to this role, Jake was a High Yield Credit Analyst at 9fin from September 2022 to March 2025, where responsibilities included publishing investment research on high yield credit issuances related to leveraged buyouts and mergers and acquisitions. Earlier experience includes working as a Private Equity Intern at The Nomad Group in late 2021 to mid-2022, specializing in lower middle market private equity, and co-founding KicksTrader, an alternative investing platform for rare sneakers, from June 2020 to July 2021. Jake holds a Bachelor of Science in Commerce from the University of Virginia and the UVA McIntire School of Commerce.
