Michele Holcomb

Dr. Holcomb leads Strategy and Business Development for Cardinal Health across the enterprise, including the pharmaceutical and medical segments. She and her team work closely with the business leaders to define strategies and identify opportunities for growth within the evolving health care landscape. Her team also drives the execution and integration of acquisitions, divestments, and partnerships to support Cardinal Health’s strategic and financial goals.

Holcomb came to Cardinal Health from Teva Pharmaceuticals, where she was the COO of Global R&D and SVP of Strategy, Portfolio, Search, and Partnerships. In this role, she led many aspects of R&D operations, including portfolio management of assets across both the internal R&D pipeline and external opportunities. She also developed approaches for creative partnerships and external pipeline funding. Holcomb originally joined Teva in 2010 as VP of Corporate Strategy, where she led company-wide strategy, including assessment and integration of major acquisitions. She also drove process improvements at key interfaces in R&D, sales & marketing, and supply chain.

Prior to joining Teva, Holcomb was a partner in the Global Pharmaceutical Practice at McKinsey & Company, where she served numerous global pharmaceutical companies and high-growth biotechs. Holcomb is trained as a chemist with a bachelor’s degree from Stanford University, a doctorate from the University of California, Berkeley, and experience as a bench chemist at Syntex Pharmaceuticals and Ciba-Geigy. he also is a member of the board of directors for Bucks County Community College Foundation, and sits on the Editorial Advisory Board of Pharmaceutical Executive.

Liberty Science Center is a nonprofit organization dedicated to getting learners of all ages excited about the power, promise, and pure fun of science and technology. Liberty Science Center houses 12 museum exhibition halls, a live animal collection with 110 species, giant aquariums, the Jennifer Chalsty Planetarium (the biggest planetarium in the Western Hemisphere), a 3D theater, live simulcast surgeries, tornado and hurricane-force wind simulators, K-12 classrooms and labs, and teacher-development programs. More than half a million students, teachers, and parents visit the Science Center each year, and tens of thousands more participate in the Center's offsite and online programs.
