Tim Schwochert is an accomplished scientist with extensive experience in technology development and research within the field of chemistry. Currently serving as Scientist II at Life Edit Therapeutics since September 2021, Schwochert previously held the position of Postdoctoral Researcher at UNC Lineberger Comprehensive Cancer Center and was a PhD Candidate at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, where a Doctor of Philosophy degree in Chemistry was earned from 2015 to 2020. Additional experience includes serving as an Adjunct Professor at Elon University and a Research and Development Intern at CURE Pharmaceutical, where training focused on formulation chemistry for drug delivery systems. Schwochert holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Biochemistry and Molecular Biology from California Lutheran University.

The platform allows Life Edit to target any genomic sequence and develop novel human therapeutics for the most challenging genetic diseases by enabling ex vivo engineering for cell therapies and regenerative medicines and in vivo delivery of gene therapies.
