Ed Mountjoy

Ed Mountjoy is a Principal Machine Learning Scientist at LifeArc, with prior experience as a Senior Machine Learning Scientist. Previously, Ed held positions as a Senior Scientist and Scientist at Genomics from February 2020 to June 2023, and worked as a Staff Scientist in Statistical Genetics at both Open Targets and the Wellcome Sanger Institute from October 2017 to February 2020. Ed's research focuses on drug target identification through human genetics data, including the development of a machine learning framework for prioritizing causal genes and variants at trait-associated loci. Ed holds a PhD from the University of Bristol, as well as a Master of Research in Computational Biology from the University of York and a Bachelor of Science in Genetics from The University of Edinburgh.
