Sam Bourne is a Drug Discovery Scientist at LifeArc, focusing on pre-clinical development of novel therapeutics in neuroscience, oncology, and anti-microbials since December 2018. Previously, as an Industrial Fellow with the Royal Commission for the Exhibition of 1851 from October 2020 to September 2023, Sam researched the clinical translation of pain therapies, specifically targeting genetic variants in chronic and neuropathic pain. A background in neuroscience was established at the University of Southampton, where Sam served as a Research Assistant studying cerebral amyloid angiopathy. Sam holds a PhD in Pharmacology from the University of Kent, an MSc in Genetic Manipulation and Molecular Cell Biology from the University of Sussex, and a BSc in Pharmacology from the University of Southampton.
