Michael Block

Michael is Senior Vice President, Strategy & Asset Liability Management for OMERS, one of Canada’s largest pension funds with over $100B in assets and 500,000 members.

In his role, Michael is responsible for developing OMERS overall strategy and the long-term target asset mix. He works closely with OMERS Boards and operates across the organization, working with all investment businesses, pension services and corporate functions.

Prior to joining OMERS, Michael was a Principal at Boston Consulting Group (BCG). While at BCG, Michael consulted to over 20 leading organizations across Canada, the US and Europe in a variety of industries. Michael was based in the firm’s Toronto office and spent one year working in the Stockholm, Sweden office.

Michael joined the Board of LifeLabs in January 2020. He also serves on the Board of Purpose Financial.
