Chief Research Engineer/launcher System(r&d) at LIG Nex1

Sun-kyu Ahn has a strong background in mechanical engineering, with over 20 years of experience at LIG Nex1. Sun-kyu started their career in 1997 as a Mechanical Engineer and then progressed to the role of Assistant Research Mechanical Engineer in 1999. From 2002 to 2007, they served as a Mechanical Research Engineer. In 2008, they were promoted to Senior Mechanical Research Engineer and held this role until 2010. From 2011 to 2015, they worked as a Principal Mechanical Research Engineer. In 2015, Sun-kyu transitioned to the position of Principal R&D Planning Engineer, where they served until 2017. Sun-kyu then became a Chief Research Engineer in the Mechanical R&D department from 2018 to 2018, focusing on researching new technology and developing mechanical tools. Currently, Sun-kyu is the Chief Research Engineer for the Launcher System R&D division at LIG Nex1, a position they have held since 2019.

Sun-kyu Ahn holds a Master's degree in Fatigue in Metal Matrix Composite, which was obtained from Sungkyunkwan University between 1995 and 1997. Prior to that, Sun-kyu Ahn completed another Master's degree in Industrial Engineering at Hanyang University from 1990 to 1994. In terms of certifications, Sun-kyu Ahn obtained a certification in Information Systems Engineering from Hanwha Systems Institute in December 2010, a 6 Sigma Black Belt certification from LG Group in September 2000, and a certification in System Engineering from Hyundai Information and Communications in an unspecified year.
