Cheng Shao has held multiple roles throughout their work experience. Cheng began their career in 2005 at SAC Capital Advisors as a Multi-Strategy Prop Trader and Research Analyst. In 2009, they worked as a Prop Trader at Access Global Partner. From 2010 to 2011, they served as a Trader/Research Analyst at Argonaut Capital Management, focusing on Asian names in equity, currency, and fixed income. Cheng then joined CITIC Securities International USA in 2011, where they became the Head of Trading, building and managing the asset management and fixed income business lines. Currently, they are a Managing Director at Lighthouse Investment Partners, LLC, starting in October 2016.
Cheng Shao pursued their education in a chronological manner, beginning with a Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering from Tsinghua University, which they obtained from 1994 to 1998. Cheng then went on to earn a Master of Science degree in Engineering from the same institution, completing their studies from 1998 to 2001. Following this, Cheng Shao enrolled in the University of Maryland where they pursued a Ph.D. in Optimal Control, which they obtained between the years 2001 and 2005.
In addition to their formal education, Cheng Shao has also obtained several certifications in the field of finance. Cheng possesses certifications such as the Equity Trader Limited Representative, General Securities Principal, General Securities Representative, and Uniform Securities Agent State Law, all of which were obtained from FINRA.
