Lightmatter
Ian MacFarlane is a Design Verification Engineer at Lightmatter since December 2023, previously serving as a Teaching Assistant for the EE180 Digital Systems Architecture course at Stanford University School of Engineering from January to April 2023. Ian's earlier experience includes a Test Team Intern role at Quintessent Inc., where responsibilities involved building device testing infrastructure and characterizing various device metrics. Ian also worked as a Software Engineering Intern at SecureDocs Inc., focusing on front-end and back-end development while enhancing security measures. Additionally, Ian gained research experience as a Lab Intern at the Institute for Energy Efficiency at UCSB, contributing to manual characterization of III/V semiconductor lasers and co-authoring papers. Ian holds a Master of Science and a Bachelor of Science in Electrical and Electronics Engineering from Stanford University and graduated from Cate School with a high school diploma.
