Xinran (Ryan) Wang began their work experience in 2016 as a Software Engineer Intern at Computation Institute. Xinran (Ryan) then interned as a Software Engineer at NewsOnChat Inc. from April 2017 to October 2017. During this time, they developed the backend of the team collaboration mobile app TopiChat for iOS and Android platforms. Xinran (Ryan) implemented various features using Java, Spring Boot, REST API, JavaScript, Node.js, Express, Socket.IO, Cassandra, Redis, Docker, Consul, and NGINX. Xinran (Ryan) also developed two-factor authentication (2FA) using SMS, Email, and Push Notification services, and implemented a multi-party real-time Video Chat feature using Twilio API, WebRTC, and JWT. Additionally, they built a Survey system generating PDF reports with pie and bar charts using PDFBox and XChart, and developed a Read Receipt system for channel messages and topic posts with optimized time/space usage. Xinran (Ryan) integrated a Payment system with other features using TransNational Payments API. Xinran (Ryan) Wang then worked as a Software Engineer at Lime starting in November 2018.
Xinran (Ryan) Wang obtained a Bachelor of Science (BS) degree in Resources Science and Engineering from Beijing Normal University, where they studied from 2010 to 2014. Xinran (Ryan) then pursued a Master of Science (MS) degree in Computer Science at the University of Chicago from 2015 to 2016.
