Charlie Lee has a diverse work experience spanning over two decades. Charlie began their career as a Software Engineer at Kana Communications in 2000, and then moved on to Guidewire Software as a Senior Software Engineer from 2003 to 2007. In 2007, they joined Google as a Software Engineer and worked there until 2013. During their time at Google, they also served as the Director of Engineering at Coinbase from 2015 to 2017. In 2011, Charlie Lee created Litecoin, a popular cryptocurrency, and became the Managing Director of the Litecoin Foundation in 2016. Charlie currently holds the role of Director at the Litecoin Foundation. Additionally, they serve as a Board Member at both BTCS Inc. and Valkyrie, starting in 2021.

Charlie Lee attended The Lawrenceville School from 1990 to 1995. Charlie then went on to study at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) from 1995 to 1999 and obtained a Bachelor of Science degree in Computer Science. Subsequently, from 1999 to 2000, they pursued further education at MIT and earned a Master of Engineering (MEng) degree in Computer Science.
